The 1-of-1 Ferrari SC40 Purchased by Ferrari of Denver's Top Customer
Over the years, our collection of new Ferrari vehicles and access to a wealth of vehicles through the brand's history have made us a destination for those across America to purchase the iconic Italian sports and performance cars. This includes one of our valued customers commissioning and procuring the Ferrari SC40, a one-off vehicle introduced in October 2026 by the Ferrari Special Projects Programme.
About the Ferrari SC40
Built upon the mid-rear-engined 296 GTB platform, including its rear-wheel-drive chassis and V6 turbo-hybrid powertrain, the Ferrari SC40 reinterprets the spirit of the legendary 1987 F40 with its own unique identity. Ferrari design director Flavio Manzoni and the Ferrari Styling Centre drew heavily from the F40's distinctive DNA: a long, low nose, short rear overhang, tall, fixed rear wing, smoked Lexan® louvers, open-mesh rear fascia, and triangular NACA-style coolant inlets. Yet the SC40 is not a retro copy, as it fuses industrial precision and vertical geometry with fluid, organic surfaces, reflected in a grid-like visual rhythm formed by crisp vertical lines on the wings, door cuts, and engine cover. The fixed rear spoiler, entirely reimagined and bearing an engraved SC40 logo, flows seamlessly from the engine cover, while the carbon-Kevlar cockpit featuring Charcoal Alcantara® and red Jacquard fabric echoes the original F40's motorsport ethos.
Performance-wise, thanks to its 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 and electric motor delivering 830 horsepower and 545 pound-feet of torque, the SC40 accelerates from zero to 62 miles per hour in 2.9 seconds, topping out over 205 miles per hour. Those speeds substantially surpassing the F40 of its era.
Finished in bespoke Bianco SC40, the exterior is complemented by a 3D-printed titanium-carbon central exhaust, smoked Lexan engine louvers, and open mesh rear detailing. The wheels are made of brushed metal with black spokes, underscoring the car's futuristic character.
Beyond production, Ferrari showcased the car's bodywork at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello, offering fans an inside look into the one-off creative process. With its clear yet evolved homage, the SC40 embodies Ferrari's ability to blend heritage and innovation, aligning 1980s supercar fantasy with 21st-century performance, customization, and industrial artistry.
Now, it will find a home in the collection of one of Ferrari of Denver's top customers.
