Ferrari Technician Challenge 2008

Ferrari Training Centre, Maranello Italy
December 9-12, 2008

The Ferrari Technician Challenge is a global competition, held annually at the Ferrari Training Centre in Maranello. The goal of the competition is to challenge each technician with 10 tests, practical and exam, in order to name the winner; Ferrari Technician of the Year. This competition consists of 2 rounds, the Qualifying and the Finals. The Qualifying round is open to Technicians globally. The top 10 technicians then earn their place in the Technician Challenge Finals. This year, the technicians came from Italy, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, France, Austrailia and 2 from America. The American technicians were Anthony Deremigio from Algar in Philadelphia and Bill Evenden from Ferrari of Denver. All 10 of these technicians arrived in Maranello winners already. The dedication, experience and technical knowledge needed to achieve this level proves they are among the world's elite technicians. The competition was intense and truly exciting. During the time in Italy the technicians toured the Ferrari Factory, Corrozzeria Scaglietti, Gestione Sportive (F1!) Corghi and the Galleria. They were immersed in Ferrari's home and culture. The trip also consisted of a technical overview of the new Ferrari California as well as a look into the future technologies for Ferrari.

The final award ceremony was held at the annual Ferrari Convention. Here the technicians were honored in front of the Ferrari Factory staff were Enzo Francesconi personally awarded every technician and Luca Montezemolo personally congratulated each of them.
