WHO WE ARE

Bill Stewart impresses everyone he meets with his quiet elegance and his business acumen. One might expect the owner of a successful Ferrari dealership to be boastful; not Bill. Self-made, Bill started in service and ended up owning the place. Quite an accomplishment in the face of mega-dealers and huge conglomerates.
But as the owner of Ferrari of Denver, things weren't always perfect; or easy.
Think about it: surviving into his fourth decade through a sometimes adverse business climate wasn't automatic. Nor was it easy. Especially in the realm of exotic automobiles!
Everybody knew Royal Carriage Works at My Garage. Bill started from scratch with the Rolls-Royce franchise that a Denver Lincoln-Mercury dealership didn't want any longer (they also let Mercedes-Benz go). Bill grew this business by selecting additional specialty franchises. And that's how it all began. Sounds easy, right?
Recall the up and down economics of the '70s '80s and '90s, and even the turbulent period after Sept 11th. Ferrari's cars weren't always pre-sold years in advance. Rolls-Royce/Bentley was a steady but small manufacturer sometimes having no cars available for sale. Lotus was in and out of the USA. Maserati had its own tarnish until Ferrari rescued them. Alfa-Romeo up and left America. Bill stayed the course with his factory-franchised brands. This company has grown despite economic downturns that obliterated most competitors. Time after time, little non-franchised imitators pop up when it's easy; and poof, they're always gone when it gets difficult.
Bill built this successful dealership around the four most famous and noteworthy new car franchises in the world, and recruited the most talented and knowledgeable brand managers and staff to support each make. In retrospect, what might appear effortless now was actually a huge challenge and often difficult path.
Bill is himself a factory-trained Rolls-Royce technician. Although Bill put his wrenches away thirty years ago, he still personally oversees the entire dealership's activities. The contacts that Bill made in those early days connected well to this day at Bentley. Having caught the specialty automobile bug early on, the current evolution of Ferrari, Maserati, Bentley and Lotus automobiles is particularly rewarding.
Above all, Bill is a car-guy. He has just as much fun selecting a car for his garage at home as you do. So what does Bill have at home today? A new Quattroporte and classic Bentley Turbo RL, plus a new Bentley Continental that he drives most days. With a huge talent for both the styling and technical aspects of our brands, Bill is a capable and knowledgeable advisor with a lot of history. Bill is the Ferrari brand manager, known worldwide for his amazing Ferrari knowledge, history and insights. Bill's been here over 20 years. Long before our factory franchise with Ferrari, Bill bought and sold hundreds of Ferrari for this dealership.
He has helped run motorcycle and automobile dealerships since 1973 and personally bought his first Ferrari almost 30 years ago. There is a different one in his garage every year or so (Currently a stunning 360), which has enabled him to have a very broad and objective knowledge of what these cars are really like to own.
Two of his past vintage Ferrari were FCA National Concours winners--after he restored them himself. Bill is listed with The Ferrari Club of America as one of their restoration reference experts, and as a member of the FCA Technical Committee is capable and willing to share his knowledge with other members on a broad range of subjects. Many long-time Ferrari owners know Bill through his popular news & reviews in the FCA newsletters. Great reading from a well-versed Ferrari specialist.
The Master of the 'barn find', Bill has discovered some pretty special Ferrari automobiles stashed away. When Ferrari serial number 001 was rediscovered, Bill Orth was trusted with verification of this priceless gem. That special Ferrari now visits Ferrari of Denver for its service needs. Most recently, Bill discovered a Daytona Spider left parked in a dry desert garage near L.A. And he is on the trail of a few more significant Ferrari cars, right now.
With a couple trips to the Ferrari factory each year, Bill is well versed and totally connected at Ferrari and Maserati. Bill has logged many hours at Fiorano, the factory test track. Well-traveled, Bill has arranged for the importation of Ferrari to and from many countries.
For new and pre-owned Ferrari products, investment advice, and technical wizardry, Bill is the man you want to speak with. FCA members recognize his name as the author of many published articles about Ferrari lore in the FCA magazine, Prancing Horse, and the monthly national news Bulletin. His work has been published in the Ferrari Market Letter in addition to a monthly advice and experience column that has appeared in the Rocky Mountain FCA region's newsletter for over ten years.
Bill is still active in vintage Motorcycle enduro events, and travels the country to compete in these grueling races. He's lost track of how many motorcycles he owns now; dozens. And folks who are lucky enough to see Bill at our private track events will attest to Bill's incredible pace on-track. Well versed and speaking from experience, Bill's knowledge is unparalleled.

Mike Parmakian wears many hats; the Lotus Manager, Bentley manager and Pre-Owned Manager, as well as Financial Services Manager.
He updates & makes the changes on this web-site, advertising & product placement, selection of events & venues for the brands, & track day.
After a tour in Viet Nam, and while teaching high school, Mike started in sales at Bob Hagestad Porsche-Audi back in 1969. He's remained exclusively in the special interest & exotic automobile business in Colorado ever since. You'll be hard pressed to ask a car-question he cannot answer from personal experience.
He is a walking encyclopedia of useless trivia of all things automotive.
Everybody knew Mike's Centennial Motor Company (aka Centennial Alfa), the franchised Alfa-Romeo, Ferrari, Lotus & Renault dealership in Boulder (Mike brought the Ferrari and Lotus franchises to Colorado in 1976); little dealership, huge presence, nationally known; always dozens of significant automobiles on display.
You want experience? He's owned and driven literally anything you can name: Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa-Romeo, Lotus (now you know where all those vintage Super-7s in Colorado came from), R-R & Bentley of all vintage, BMW (even a 507), Jags, early Lambo, MBz, Porsche, original 289 & 427 Cobras, Healeys, MGs, TR3s, mid-year 'vettes, on & on. Mainstream to obscure, historic, vintage and museum quality automobiles of all description (& maybe a hundred car show trophies along the way)... Gullwings, Daytonas; XKs, pre-war, post-war... you get the idea. A car nut. Mike has placed cars into some of the most significant collections around the globe including the Mercedes-Benz Classic Car Center in Stuttgart, the Jaguar factory museum in Coventry, the Shelby American Collection in Colorado, Dr Jackson and Otis Chandler among others.
He has a fairly complete understanding of high performance vehicle dynamics, having logged plenty of track hours at factory test tracks and manufacturer venues; quite able to explain and compare the highs and lows from 4 decades of such foolishness. He's even driven some of the performance numbers published in Road and Track and Car and Driver road tests.
Fun stuff like that.
With the last decade's management experience within the big prestige import brands, Mike's new car experience has become unparalleled. A knowledgeable enthusiast with real history; through good markets, bad markets and everything in between.
And remember the original pocket-rocket from the early '80s? That intense R-5 Turbo 2 started a powerful new trend; Mike was the Renault Alpine factory-direct USA importer of these revolutionary mid-engine turbocharged rally cars, with national media coverage & attention for market-making this breakthrough car.

Derek is our Maserati Brand Manager and has been with Ferrari of Denver over a dozen years. Derek is well versed in the complete franchise line-up and has a particularly strong interest in Maserati. Nobody speaks Maserati quite like Derek. He just returned from the Maserati factory, where Derek is our representative (as well as for all the Maserati factory meetings around the country). He is your Maserati "insider" with a complete mastery of facts, figures and history of the brand.
Derek has used his knowledge and passion for automobiles to varying degrees. During his first couple of years here, Derek tended to our Alfa Romeo and Ferrari Service clients as he advised them on the mechanical condition of their pride and joy. A few years later, he made the transition to the Sales department; Derek literally knows these cars inside and out. With travels to the Maserati factory and several visits to Maserati headquarters each year, Derek always has the inside track with all the new Maserati cars.

Some weekends you'll see Derek enjoying a new Maserati, actively involved with the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Maserati Club. His excitement is clearly visible whenever the Trident is in close proximity.
Beyond the beautiful cars we feature, Derek's interests include winter sports (what else would you expect from a Colorado Native) and spending time with his daughter. He lives in LoDo with his wife Sage, who many of you know from Ferrari of Denver. They enjoy travel and the excitement of living downtown.
